We're excited to release Northfox — an AI stock research app that runs locally, learns from your notes, and gives you data-backed answers to plain-English questions about stocks.
Why we built it
Northfox is built around a simple idea: your research, your data, your machine. You ask a question in natural language, and Northfox answers it using live market feeds and SEC filings — not hallucinations.
What you can do with it
Ask questions like:
- "What's different between META and GOOGL right now?"
- "Give me a quick summary of TSLA risks from the latest 10-K."
- "Show recent NVDA price history and explain the trend."
And get answers grounded in real data.
Beyond one-off questions, Northfox keeps a research notes layer where you can capture insights, flag tickers to revisit, and build up context that persists across sessions. The more you use it, the more it reflects your own research style.
Plugins and skills
One of the things we're proudest of is the extension system. Northfox lets you add custom data sources with plugins and build reusable research workflows with skills.
