What powers Northfox?​

Northfox is powered by Pi and the Moonshot Kimi model.

Do I need to choose a model before I start?​

No. You can download Northfox, begin your trial, and start chatting right away.

What happens when my trial tokens run out?​

Click the token counter in the app to open the Status modal, then use the button there to create a subscription.

What is the difference between notes and memory?​

  • Use notes for research you want to keep.
  • Use memory for preferences you want Northfox to remember across chats.

What is the difference between plugins and skills?​

  • Skills are reusable instruction packs for repeatable workflows.
  • Plugins are extensions that add deeper capabilities such as tools, cards, or outside integrations.

If you are not sure which to use, start with a skill.

Can I build my own extensions?​

Yes. Start with Plugins and Skills, then use Extension Development if you want to build a plugin.
