Memory
Memory helps Northfox remember stable preferences across conversations, so you do not have to repeat them in every chat.
Use Memory for things like:
- your preferred output format
- your default analysis style
- persistent watchlist or sector focus
- recurring constraints (for example, "keep answers concise")
Memory vs Research Notes
Use both, but for different purposes:
- Memory: reusable preferences and user context
- Research Notes: ticker/theme findings and conclusions
If you want to save evidence, reasoning, and conclusions, use Research Notes.
If you want Northfox to remember how you like it to work, use Memory.
Common prompts
- "Remember that I focus on large-cap semiconductor names."
- "Remember my preferred format: bull/base/bear with confidence."
- "What do you remember about my preferences?"
- "Forget my previous formatting preference."
Recommended workflow
- Set your stable preferences once with a memory prompt.
- Ask your analysis questions normally.
- Save conclusions to notes when they are worth keeping.
- Periodically review and clean up outdated memory entries.
